Since it is a 9 minute speech I advise you practice it a lot so that you don't stumble through your speech. Also try to talk about something you know a lot of information about because it is a relatively long speech.

Make sure you speak with expression in your voice. Just talking slowly and making eye contact isn't enough; show the audience that you are enthusiastic about your topic by speaking with passion and variation.

Make the speech interesting! Find a topic you can really go off on, but will continue to gain interest because it is a very long speech! Engage in the audience and tell jokes. Make sure to practice your speech to eliminate stumbles and pauses.

Before you choose your topic make sure that you will be able to talk about it in length and in detail. Also because the speech is so long make sure you have good, two sided transitions.

I can't say this enough; pick a topic that you can have fun with. If you pick a topic that you can find a whole lot of legitimate information on, go with it. But make sure that the topic, can somehow relate to your audience. Nothing is worse than a boring speech that you just keep droning on and on about for the 9 minutes that are needed. Another help-full tip, the easiest way to make your audience listen is if you include audience participation, and food. I hate to say it, but I find a lot of topics really boring if they don't include you let alone give you something to look at. Always make sure that your visual aid is looking good, because trust me, you don't want to have to deal with a boring visual aid, while you are trying to give a speech. Last but not least, make sure you have fun, smile, and breath; we would not want to have someone pass out while giving a speech. So Relax!

Since this is nine minutes long, you really have to do a topic you have interest in so you wont end up boring yourself or switching to a different topic halfway through the process of making the speech. Be expressive too to engage the audience.

I used a lot of cooking/recipe websites since mine was on pavlova. A really good site for finding recipes is www.joyofbaking.com

To inform someone about something, inform them about something that we don't usually look out for, or somthing that we don't pay attention to, until we experience it ourselves, such as some type of sickness or something. Make it interesting!!!
